01 · The Business
A familiar name in Leamington Spa.
Keep Calm and Beer (The Hope) is a community pub in Leamington Spa serving a well-chosen range of drinks in a friendly, welcoming atmosphere. It’s a genuine local, drawing regulars and visitors who come in for everything from a quiet pint to a lively weekend. As an independent pub, keeping a close eye on overheads is essential, since the cost of card processing and equipment rental directly affects what’s left at the end of the month.
Pubs live on busy evenings and weekends, so quick payments at the bar and a connection that holds up when the place is full matter more than almost anything else.
02 · The Challenge
Where the old arrangement fell short.
The pub wanted to stop paying ongoing terminal rental fees on its previous Dojo arrangement and instead own its card machines outright to bring those recurring costs down. Equipment rental is a charge that quietly mounts up year after year without the business ever owning anything for it. They were also keen to make their everyday spending work harder by earning cashback on the things the pub buys to run day to day.
What mattered most. Lower costs, no terminal rental and cashback on the business account, backed by local support that is easy to reach around the clock.
03 · The Switch
The move to Teya.
NEOM moved them to Teya, removing the rental fees by switching to owned terminals and adding 0.5% cashback through the Teya business account on day-to-day spending. That turns a routine business cost into a small ongoing return. Overall the switch cut their card processing costs by around 30%, backed by local 24/7 support so there’s always someone on hand when the bar is busy.
